2009 HSP Charity Alliance Event
Thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors and supporters who made the 2009 HSP Charity Alliance Event such a success! The $10,000 painting and remodeling makeover for STEP2 took place Saturday, October 17th. Check out some photos of the event on our website.
We began prepping the STEP2 facilities on October 15th & 16th. The main makeover event took place on Saturday, October 17th from 8am to 5pm. The improvements included wood repair, exterior painting, and patio cover repairs. HSP employees and members of the community volunteered their time to help give the STEP2 facilities a makeover.
“We are so fortunate to have the support of companies like HSP Painting,” said Diaz Dixon, Chief Executive Officer of STEP2. “Time and again, we have asked various companies for their help updating our facility and thankfully HSP has stepped up in the biggest way.”
This year the HSP Charity Alliance was made possible by Sherwin Williams, who donated $5000 towards the cause. The alliance is also being supported by A&H Insurance, Bj's Restaurant/Brewhouse, Clear Channel, Dave Pearce Construction, Dick's Fuller Paints, Sam's Club, The Sparks Chamber of Commerce, Steve Bus and Studio66 Design.
HSP Painting Company is already gearing up for their 2010 Charity Alliance. "Despite the hit we have all felt from the current economy, it is still so important for us to give back to our communities. It will be more important than ever to get supporters and sponsors for the 2010 charity Alliance; we need them to make this event possible.", says HSP General Manager, Kevin Cornell. If you or your business is interested in participating in the 2010 Charity Alliance, please call 775.324.6764.
HSP Painting Co. received 2009 PIPP Award.
The PDCA, a national painting and decorating organization, awarded us the 2009 PIPP award for our HSP Charity Alliance in 2008. We submitted news articles and photos of the painting we did for Washoe Arc and were selected winners by a committee of our peers.
“Frequent vandalism had turned the building into a patchwork of mismatched graffiti repairs. Altogether HSP had about 50 of their painters who volunteered their day for this job. At 7:30 the prep crew started working their way around the building, taking care of any masking, scraping, or sanding that was necessary after the power wash. The painting crew then began applying the main body color. With 5 sprayers going, it didn’t take very long to completely coat the building. One crew got to work on the accent stripe at the front of the building, another crew started on the blue roof metal, and a third crew started on the touchup and cleaning.”
