HSP Painting Company started in residential exterior repaints, and this is still an important area for our business. Our love for this facet of residential painting has never faded and we continually strive to provide the very best job. As homeowners ourselves, we know how important your home is to you, and we consider that passion when we send our trained and licensed staff to take care of the homes we paint. We strive to provide the best finished product possible, and offer services beyond the scope of most painters since we know what it takes to complete a paint job that will last for years to come.
The key to a successful exterior paint job is preparation. Old paint finishes may not be ready for new finish coats, caulked joints may need to be resealed, and landscaping such as bushes, trees and steep slopes all play a factor in the end result. Ignoring the proper preparation for these exterior surfaces is a recipe for failure. In addition, quality materials must be used to ensure the finished product will resist weather, UV damage and other damaging forces. Our exterior repaints usually include the following steps:
Prep Work
- Pressure wash areas to be finished to ensure a clean, sound surface for good adhesion
- Trench below dirt level to seal base of building
- Power sand peeling areas to "feather" out and prevent further peeling
- Prime all woodwork: fascia, window trim, etc.
- Apply Elastomeric to wood areas, especially around doors and windows subject to water penetration
- Re-set loose nails
- Mask windows, shrubbery, sidewalks, driveways, and other adjacent surfaces to avoid paint drips and overspray
Finishes
- Apply two coats finish to all surfaces
- Use highest quality exterior paints and/or stains
- Deck staining
